Philip Cooper
Philip has always been drawn to the Corporate deal and keeps an eye on the PLC property sector of the stock Market.
In acting for a couple of PE investors he recently advised Harwood capital as they acquired stakes in Circle Property and then Palace Capital and REI. Circle’s board of Directors agreed to a liquidation strategy and acting on behalf of LXI Reit, BCMRE acquired the largest asset in the portfolio being Compass Group in Milton Keynes. Palace Capital and REI are now also liquidating assets in order to see the discount between NAV and share price narrow.
Philip was part of the JO Hambro Capital management team that created Wichford PLC , a listed property company, investing in Government leased offices in the UK and Europe. Over a 7-8 year period BCM RE helped the company acquire close to a £1 billion portfolio. Wichford was highly leveraged through Lehman Brothers and suffered when they went bust in the financial crisis. Wichford was eventually rescued by RDI, now Brightbay Asset Management who remain client’s of Philip.
